Foureyes (the company I work for) sends this daily email report to car dealership managers. It's an overview of who has been on their website recently and who is worth following up. It's our main touch point with our users and it had not seen design improvements for a few years.
The goal of this project was to design the UX of the email to be more useful to managers and align the UI with our new design system.
The Project manager came to me with this project to clean up the experience and the design of what we call the Coffee Report. We had recently done a series of user interviews to gather what was valuable about the existing reports. Based on that feedback and a new design system we set off to create a new report. First we cycled through a few iterations of wireframes (see example below). After a wireframe was decided on I brought the design into Sketch and made them into a hi-fi vision. After the PM had signed off on the UI improvements, I built out the front end of the email and tested them in detail across all our supported email clients. After the template was coded, I passed it along to the developer to hook up the logic and make it come to life! After thorough testing, it was out in the world.
We are still gathering data since the release, but here are a few quotes from release day:
"I love this new layout! It makes it easier to differentiate leads assigned to salespeople and those customers that need follow up.”
"I am pleased with the Coffee Report, it makes it easier for our reps to find their "hot leads" and keep track of the guest that are still engaging. The coffee report makes the BDR's job a little more easier"
“I like it a lot actually! It gives me the inside scoop which is pretty nice especially in the mornings when I wake up and see the coffee reports."
